BridgeLang is an online platform that connects students and tutors for real-life English in the UK, providing both online and in-person lessons.
The platform is available to individuals aged 18 and above. Students aged 14–17 may also join, but only with verified parental/guardian consent.
2. Accounts and Registration
Yes. Both students and tutors must register for an account and provide accurate information.
No. Accounts are personal and must not be shared.
3. Booking and Payments
No. You do not need to purchase a paid subscription to book lessons. You can book lessons directly with tutors and pay per lesson, without any subscription plan.
You pay per lesson, not via credits or mandatory subscriptions. Lessons can be booked in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions, depending on the tutor’s availability. All payments are made securely through Stripe directly on the BridgeLang platform.
Yes. You are free to choose your tutor and book lessons based on their availability, experience and pricing.
No. There are no long-term commitments. You can book lessons whenever you want and stop anytime.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Yes. You can cancel anytime via your account dashboard. However, partial refunds are generally not available unless required by law.
UK consumers have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period to cancel purchases and receive a refund provided that services have not been fully used.
Late cancellations (within 24 hours) may be charged in full, according to the cancellation policy set by the tutor.
5. Teachers and Payments
Tutors receive 80% of the lesson fee. BridgeLang retains 20% as a service fee.
Payments are made securely via Stripe Connect. Tutors must maintain a valid payment account.
All tutors must meet BridgeLang’s eligibility requirements and provide identity verification. Additional background or qualification checks may be requested.
Yes. Tutors can set their lesson rates within platform guidelines.
6. Conduct and Safety
No. Off-platform lessons and payments are strictly prohibited.
Students and tutors must behave respectfully and professionally. Harassment, discrimination or abusive conduct is not tolerated and may result in account suspension or termination.
Yes, but they are undertaken at your own risk. Students under 18 require parental consent and tutors are encouraged to follow BridgeLang’s safety guidelines.
7. Parental Consent
Yes, but only with verified parental or guardian consent.
Both the student and parent/guardian receive confirmation emails. The student account remains inactive until both confirm.
8. Technical Issues and Support
If reconnection is not possible, BridgeLang will assess the circumstances and may offer a rescheduled lesson or a refund for the unused portion of the session.
Yes. BridgeLang works on most modern devices. For the best experience, we recommend you to use an up-to-date browser.
We recommend using Chrome, Safari or Firefox. Internet Explorer is not supported.
9. Privacy and Data
All personal data is processed in line with the BridgeLang Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.
Yes. You may exercise your rights (including data deletion) under the Privacy Policy by contacting BridgeLang.
10. Disputes and Legal
Disputes should first be resolved amicably. If unresolved, mediation or arbitration in the UK may be pursued.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, with courts in England and Wales having exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Support and Complaints
You can report misconduct directly through the Platform’s reporting feature or by contacting contact@bridgelang.co.uk.
BridgeLang reviews all reports promptly. Depending on the case, action may include warnings, suspension or permanent account removal.
12. Future Developments
BridgeLang focuses exclusively on real-life English for life in the UK, prioritising practical pathways such as work, healthcare and everyday integration rather than adding new languages. Any future expansion would only be considered if it strongly aligns with our UK integration mission.
